MAIZE UPLAND
NAN, THAILAND
Our 3 Maize Cluster Farm Groups are from 3 different sub-districts of Nanoi District, Nan province, Thailand. Nanoi District is the 2nd phase district of Nan province that produces maize (around 70,000 rai). Average maize production area is 10-150 rai per household with average yield of 600-700 kg./rai. The three groups produce both maize and coffee. Main coffee variety is robusta. The DOAE plans to implement the 3Rs Model for crop switching (maize to coffee) with 80 farmers by 700 rai.

The meeting is to provide oversight and support from a management level, facilitating the exchange of ideas and opinions between the Thai and German delegations.
2024 Project Steering Committee Meeting
Phrae was the initial selected area that the project and DOAE team went to collect data. After situation analysis, it was suggested to implement the activities in Nan first as it has ongoing 3Rs activities there and considered Phrae to be the area for expanding results of the demonstrations later.

Develop three sustainable pillars for project's concept. Each pillar aligns with DOAE and MOAC's policy.
Discussed with the Crop Production Group of local Nan DOAE about ongoing activities under 3Rs policy including crop switching (maize to other crops). The Project team also met Mr.Ong from HRDI who has been implementing the maize transformation project of Bansawang in Nan province.
